It’s advantageous when buying a home to be dealing with a real estate agent who knows the neighbourhood like the proverbial back of their hands. Mel Evans is that person.
Mel was raised and went to school in and around the eastern suburbs. After travelling and working overseas for 14 years it was a case of “east-west home is best” for Mel who returned over a decade ago and settled back in to life in the bays, where her kids now attend the local schools.
Mel’s past career has primarily been in PR, marketing, account management, web design and digital communications, but an abiding passion for property and architecture has been a constant part of her life. Having previously invested in property in New Zealand and abroad she embarked on her real estate qualifications several years ago and was immediately head-hunted by a local real estate firm to join them as a sales agent. Employed on an internship program, she soon proved her worth by securing the #1 position in the office for 2017.
As a recent addition to the team at Ray White, Mel sees that her values align very closely with the brand. As an outside-the-box thinker and a dedicated bays resident, it makes sense to join Wayne and the team at Mission Bay’s most dynamic real estate company. She has been involved for many years with the locals through Kohimarama School fundraisers and appreciates the importance of forging strong bonds with her community. As an agent selling your home, or finding you one to buy, she is exceedingly dedicated and intuitive. Mel has an uncanny ability to “match-make” people with property. The success of this speaks for itself in her results and industry recognition.
Mel sets the bar high for herself and is meticulous about how her listings are presented, photographed and marketed to the public. She’s creative, highly organised and has a depth of local knowledge that adds value for clients moving into and out of the bay.
Outside of real estate Mel is busy with her three very sporty kids and loves walks on the waterfront, socialising with friends (some of whom started out as clients!) and travelling when time permits. She helps sponsor teams a Eastern Suburbs Football Club and is still involved with various Kohimarama School activities and fundraisers.
